Sauvignon blanc and sauvignon gris are cultivated on the old Garonne riverbed composed of quartzite and granite gravel. Vinification and maturing in earthen sandstone preserve the identity of this dry white wine.

Spring frost - 2017

A few days before "the ice saints" (on 11, 12 and 13 May) the vineyard was hit hard by a spring frost. Mother Nature's whims dashed hopes for the harvest. There will be no 2017 vintage.

An elitist vintage by the choice of grapes and plots, vinified and maturated according to the lunar cycles, a six-month period in barrels, refines this generous wine from clay-limestone terroir. Decant it 20 minutes before serving.

The harvest of the plots most exposed to the climatic benefits and then a maturing in harmony with the lunar cycles gives it complex red fruit flavours. The dominant Cabernet Sauvignon brings a final note of undergrowth.

Spotted by Jean-Marc Quarin in his Carnet n°83 - "Dark, intense, lively and beautiful colour. Medium aromatic, fruity and resinous nose. Mellow and rather full on the palate, with taste, a spicy, woody note ...". 85/100.

Laure Goy tastes for Terre de vins le Château du Champ du Moulin - cuvée L - "The beauty of the 2015 vintage and the winemaking know-how make this wine gourmet. A bluffing value for money".
